Map Media
We believe you should be able to produce a high quality map that looks good both on the screen and in paper form. After all, you usually don’t have your computer at your fingertips when you are out and about. At the most basic level, you have a choice between printing your own map on your printer or ordering a larger poster size from us.
Digital Maps
When you are done designing your map and are ready to check out, we produce a high quality pdf document with specifications suited to producing a map on your printer. Maps are produced at 300 dpi to ensure high quality when it comes time to print. You have two size options when you produce a digital map file – 8.5 x 11″ or 11 x 17″.
Print Maps
MapSherpa doesn’t limit you to page size maps. With MapSherpa you can create poster sized maps for your trip or – for your wall.
Poster maps can be created at a size of 24″ x 36″ and can be printed on straight paper or a plasticized media that will hold up better to the elements. When creating your map, specify one of the templates that reflect the larger format maps. At the time of check out, you can specify whether you want it printed on straight paper or would like it on plasticized paper.
The plasticized paper product is a thin water resistant media. While it helps to protect your map from the elements it is not so thick that it can’t be folded for storage.
