Canoeing Barron Canyon Day 2 – Highfalls

After a filling breakfast cooked on an open fire, we would pack up our bags and prepare for the day ahead. The early part of the day took us to the end of Stratton Lake and onto the first portage of the trip, and from what I remember, also the most treacherous.

Along the way to Highfalls Lake - our next destination – is a series of wonderful rapids and mini waterfalls, including our one chance for a shower where a depression formed under the river so you can stand under a 10 foot drop from the river above – very cool, literally!

The Highfalls area is a great place to camp with some wonderful scenic views, and natural water slides that would provide fur for everyone.

Map Tip: To find  this area in your MapSherpa map, search for Highfalls and select the Highfalls Lake, Ontario result.
